Appearance: Doniel's most noticeable feature is the long, crescent shaped scar across the left side of his face. His eyes are a clear brown shade. His far left adult incisor is missing. His left eyelid is torn down the middle, so he can see out of it while his eyes are shut.
Doniel has chestnut hair. He has short bangs in the front. He has two distinct lengths of hair that hang over his ears. His hair in the back is separated into separate lengths and hang low, so that they are barely visible from the front. His hair as a whole is semi-unkempt.
Doniel wears a long, dark jacket. It is torn from numerous fights and natural factors. In one of his jacket pockets, he keeps a letter he wrote to Tacita. Under his jacket, he wears a black teeshirt with a blue stripe oing diagonally across the center. He wears weathered jeans. His shoes are white with black stripes and are slightly torn in the front.

Background history: Doniel was born into an American family. He was christened Michael Demetri Herrad. When he was 4 years old, his mother was 35 and worked for a printing office. His father was 37 and was the head executive of a Dairy processor. He was left alone for many hours everyday. His youngest sibling was 8 and was already in school. He often got into mischief and was scolded at the end of the day.
When he was 7, his oldest brother, Colton, was just graduating from High School. Colton waited a year before going to college and was in charge of babysitting and homeschooling Doniel. Instead of doing the required job, Colton would leave the house and even had a day-job. His job was over by the time his parents got home, and they never believed Doniel's story.

By the time Doniel was 13, he decided not to take the abuse and neglect any longer. He hid sleeping pills in his families drinks that night. He waited until it was late and everyone was asleep. He snuck to the kitchen and found a long and sharp knife. He walked silently over to his parents room. He crossed the room and leaned over his father's body. He felt around his chest area to find where his heartbeat was strongest. He gripped the knife, took a deep breath, held it above his father's chest, and struck with all of his might. As soon as he stabbed his father, he fell back in fear. His father's face had a grotesque look of pain on it. His hand shot up and groped at his chest. Doniel held his hand over his mouth to keep form screaming. He quickly ran over and yanked the knife out.
He then made his way over to his mother. This time, he knew where to stab. He gripped the knife and stabbed with full force. He knew the reaction that would occur. He quickly pulled out the knife and left the room, so as not to see his mother's death.

After killing his sister, he ran. He fled from his house. He made his way to the Continental Railroad. He pulled out the money he stole from his house and bought a ticket. He rode the train to the west coast. There he bought an airplane ticket to Japan.
He arrived at Japan 2 days later. He found an old, abandoned house. He made his home there, he was used to being alone. He found a place where he could exchange his money for yen. During the many years of being alone, Doniel had planned on killing his family and fleeing the country. He had learned Japanese and studied Japan's history and culture, as he expected Japan to be the place he would flee to. Using his knowledge of Japan, he found a job and earned a fair wage.
His life became normal for him, until the day he met Tacita. At the time, his name was still Michael Herrad. Tacita had a life similar to his. Her real name was Melody Young. She took him to her master's dojo. At the dojo, was an old man. Doniel was confused about what was happening. Tacita explained to him that this man was Master Shinbou. He was a swordsman. He took in Tacita after she fled from her old life. Master Shinbou offered to take Doniel in.
Doniel submitted to him. Master Shinbou named him Doniel, which stood for brown-haired warrior. He gave him the last name of Masurao, which stood for warrior.
He had named Melody, Tacita, which stood for silence, and Soen, for silent warrior.
For 4 years, Doniel trained under Master Shinbou. He learned to weild a sword. He sparred with Tacita occasionally. Sometimes he won, sometimes he lost. It mattered not to him or her.
After 4 years, Doniel left Master Shinbou and travelled with Tacita.
They are currently travelling as mercenaries.
